When Gruen arrived, Lennon was enjoying his presents: the knit tie, which Ono had made herself (a copy of the one he wore at school in Liverpool); the flag pin; and the Patek, in yellow gold, which had a rare and highly coveted double-stamped dial, meaning that both the watchmaker’s and Tiffany’s logos were printed on it.
Students occupying the Goldsmiths Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) have said they were not told the gallery would be closing until October and had been attempting to negotiate with management before the closure was publicly announced.
Sara Nickelson graduated from Cranbrook’s MFA programme in painting this year after a decade working as a museum curator and gallery director, and is currently represented by Detroit's Louis Buhl & Co. An open call for the next cohort of residents will be launched in 2025.
