    Inside was “a few theses’ worth of stuff,” Gentry noted, picking up a sheaf of paper in a musty parlor room—sheet music for the 1917 song “Joan of Arc, They Are Calling You.” There were books on Catholicism (“Signed Ones in Plastic,” a label read); scholarly works on O’Connor; and, hanging in Louise’s closet, three chiffon evening gowns.
