    Ukrainian Art Under Attack: Nahirna22 Targeted

    Kyiv's Nahirna22 art collective, supporting a new generation of Ukrainian artists, was targeted twice in Russian air raids, endangering the avant-garde art scene. Fundraising efforts are underway to repair the damage.

    The Anglo-French actor Edward Akrout, who founded Art Shield, a United States charitable that help Ukrainian culture on the ground and has a partnership with Nahirna22, told The Art Paper: “What took place to Nahirna22 is not accidental. It was targeted two times.

    Maydanik, that remained in Kyiv throughout the August assault, told The Art Paper: “This new strike endangers to quieten the brand-new generation of Ukrainian artists.” She continued: “I think that Kyiv is the only city in the western world where the avant-garde is still active. Where everyone is so greatly various from each various other.”

    Nahirna22 Targeted in Kyiv Air Raids

    The area, which houses 30 studios, was struck on Friday 14 November amidst a Russian air raid that eliminated six individuals in the Ukrainian funding.
